As the Director, I have been teaching online lessons for over 6 years, and still have several of the same students for that entire time! I find teaching online to be just as rewarding and effective, and my relationships with my students are just as strong. Below are some frequently asked questions to help you decide if online lessons are a great fit for you and your family. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me directly with any questions!

Piano: we need a view of the keyboard that includes the hands, ideally from the vantage point of a person sitting next to the student. If you can purchase a tripod in order to have a good downward view of the keys, that is great. If you cannot, a device propped up on a tall stool or a music stand is great.
Guitar: we need to see both hands
Singing: the student should be able to sit and stand during the lesson and be seen
Any time lost due to technical issues is always made up that day or a day in the future.
We offer 30, 45 and 60 minute lessons in guitar, voice and piano from age 4 and up. You can view our rates and lesson types HERE
For students switching to online lessons during the COVID-19 outbreak, I have compiled some information for you below to help understand the transition:
You will need a view of the keyboard from approximately the vantage point your teacher would usually have when sitting next to the student. You can achieve this with a tripod, music stand, or boxes on a chair and duct tape 😂 I’ve used them all.
Your teacher is prepared that the first lesson may take extra time to get a good view set up and a good connection before starting the lesson.
Your teacher may be up to 5 minutes late for any online lesson. This will most likely not happen, but if she hasn’t called by 5 minutes after your lesson time, please call her or call me to help.
Your teacher will email the homework to each student after each lesson to this email address.
Please send me your usernames for 2 out of 3 of the following. Please have both installed on your device in advance, just in case of technical issues.
We will establish your accounts as “friends” on Skype between student and teacher before the lesson is to begin.
A phone, iPad, or laptop will all suffice. I find a laptop easiest in order to get a good downward view of the keyboard, but updating the apps can be more of an issue. Students should be able to see the screen so they can see the teacher if she wants to show the student how to do something. Please have ear buds/head phones available in case there is feedback.
If there is time lost due to logistics/set up, your teacher will not count that towards the lesson.
If a young child is having a tough day and needs to end the lesson early, we will credit that time toward a future lesson, or even schedule an extra lesson during the week to make up that missed time.
Our goal is to make this an amazing experience for every student, so please keep me informed on how we can best serve you!
